We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be as fair as possible while accounting for the operational realities of running ocean-based activities.
Operator Cancellations (Weather and Conditions)
If Mirissa Collective cancels your activity due to weather conditions, sea conditions, or any other circumstances within our control, you will receive a full refund — no questions asked. You will also have the option to reschedule at no additional cost.
We take this seriously. We do not cancel lightly, and when we do, you are always fully protected.

Documented Illness, Injury or Accident
If you are unable to attend due to documented illness, injury, or an unforeseen emergency, you are entitled to a full refund regardless of when you cancel. We will ask for appropriate documentation (e.g. a doctor's note or hospital record).
PADI Course — Interrupted Participation
If you begin a PADI course but are unable to complete it, the following applies:
- If you cannot attend Day 2 or later after completing Day 1, no refund will be issued for the days attended.
- If you have completed the requirements for PADI Scuba Diver but not the full Open Water Diver course, your instructor may register you for the PADI Scuba Diver certification instead. This is the instructor's decision, based on the skills you have completed. Where the Scuba Diver course costs less than the course you booked, we may refund part of the difference; the amount reflects the training, equipment and PADI materials already provided, and is confirmed by our team at the time.
- You may resume your course within 90 days of your original start date for an administration fee of LKR 8,375.
- After 90 days, resumption is not possible and the booking is considered closed.
How Refunds Are Processed
Refunds are returned by the same method you used to pay. If you paid by card, the refund goes back to that card through our bank's payment gateway, and typically takes 5–10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank. If you paid in cash on arrival, the refund is made in cash at our dive centre. We do not issue vouchers or credit notes.
To request a cancellation and refund:
- Click the "Request a Refund" link in your booking confirmation email.
- Fill in the short form with your reason and, if applicable, documentation.
- We will review your request and confirm the refund amount within 2 business days.
- Once approved, card refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. If you paid in cash, we will arrange your refund with you directly.
Rescheduling
We are happy to help you move your booking to a different date, subject to availability. To reschedule, click the "Reschedule my booking" link in your confirmation email. Rescheduling requests do not incur a fee when submitted more than 72 hours before your activity.
